Uses

It is used in conditions when type 2 diabetes is inadequately controlled by diet, exercise, or any
hypoglycemic medicines (anti-diabetic drugs).

Side Effects

Its side effects are genital infections, UTI (urinary tract infections), frequent urination and pruritis (itchy skin).

When Not To Use

It should not be used in people with diabetic ketoacidosis (a condition where the body utilizes fat more
than required), severe liver and kidney disorders, and in elderly people.
