Uses:

It is used to treat gout and certain types of kidney stones. It is also used to prevent increased uric acid levels in patients receiving cancer chemotherapy.

Side Effects:

Stomach upset, nausea, diarrhea, or drowsiness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

When not to use:

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.
