Uses:

It is used to prevent chest pain (angina). It may help to increase your ability to exercise and decrease how often you may get angina attacks.

Side Effects:

Dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, nausea, flushing, constipation, and headache may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

When not to use:

Contraindicated in patients with sick sinus syndrome except in the presence of a functioning ventricular pacemaker, patients with second-or third-degree AV block except in the presence of a functioning ventricular pacemaker, patients with hypotension (less than 9 mm Hg systolic), patients who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to the drug, and patients with acute myocardial infarction and pulmonary congestion documented by x-ray on admission.
